PAMELA ATKINS

Almost twenty years ago, when Pastor Dave was living in Pennsylvania, he was asked to lead a seminar on worship.  While there, a blond flautist caught his attention.  At the time, his thoughts were that he'd love to have a musician like her in the church he served.  He loved the use of flute in worship and wished he had the opportunity to perform with such a musician.

A few years later, he ended up in the DC area and the pastor of Smith Chapel.  As it turned out, the blond flautist lived a few miles down the road in Falls Church, VA. The flautist is Pamela Atkins.  When Pastor Dave and Denise were married in October of 1997, Pamela played for their wedding ceremony.

Since then, she has played for some of the Songs for Danny concerts at Smith, and Pastor Dave finally got his wish.  Pamela and Dave performed several songs together and led worship for the crowd.  Her last appearance here was in September of 2009.  Because she's busy serving in her local church (Culmore UMC), we can't get her here as often as we'd like.  But we'll take her every time we can get her.
